Langtang Ganja La Pass Trekking starts from Dhunche and ends at Melamchi Pul. Langtang region is surrounded by Mt. Langtang Lirung (7245m), Yala Peak, Dorje – Lakpa (6966m), Urkeinmang (6387m), Leonpo Gang (6979m) and Kngchenpo. Our trek goes through the highest point of Ganja pass (5106m) which will acclimatize and this pass is precarious so we use a rope for safety and the utmost is necessary.

Trekking in Ganjala Pass is one of the challenging passes blocked by snow. So, local iniquities About the condition, good equipments and mountaineering experience are necessary. It leads you onto fascinating journey through the severe pine forests the magnificent snow capped mountain peaks, sparkling waters of mountain streams, meadows sprinkled with daisies, monasteries, pristine glaciers and colorful Sherpa Hamlets. The trail opens up to the dramatic views of the Himal Chuli (7893m), Manaslu & so on others. Langtang Ganja la Pass Trekking takes you to Langtang, the valley of glacier before proceedings to the challenging route to the Ganja la pass.

Langtang Ganja la Pass Trekking Itinerary

Day 1: Arrrival at Kathmandu.
Upon your arrival at Kathmandu, you will be welcomed heartily by company representative at the airport and transfer to hotel with a short briefing session reflecting ancient local tradition, shrines and temples found over here. Overnight in Kathmandu. (1000m)

Day 2: Kathmandu sightseening Tour.
Visit World Heritage site in Kathmandu including Kathmandu Durbar Square , Patan Durbar Square , Pasupatinath Temple, Bouddhanath, Swoyambhunath ( also called Monkey Temple)as a half day trip . Overnight stay in Kathmandu (1000m/280ft)

Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche (1966m).
It takes about 8 hours. You head north out of Kathmandu driving through scenic foothills and ridgelines vistas to Dhunche. Your drive from Kathmandu to the destination is either by local bus or land cruiser.

Day 4: Trek from Dhunche to Syabru Gaun (2581m).
It takes about five and half hours. You trek to Syabru Gaun (6950ft), initially leisurely walking through forests and terraced hill slopes. While entering to Syabru, you descend to the ridgeline that separates the Langtang Khola from Trisuli River. Syabru is a beautiful village stretches out along the ridgelines. You continue through the village to your campsite about 15 minutes beyond the slopes below the village. The sunset is spectacular. You will enjoy with the spectacular view of Langtang Lirung (7245m) and Tibetan Himalayan ranges.

Day 5: Trek from Syabru Gaun to Lama Hotel (2470m).
It takes about five hours descending along the ridge of Main Street of Syabru. Your trail drops to Ghopche Khola (2050m) and again descends to Landslide (1810m). Your trail ascends gently to Rimche (2400m) through Bamboo (1960m) and at the end of the travel through level path to the Lama Hotel. In route, you may get lucky and spot red pandas, monkeys in their natural habitat.

Day 6: Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang village (3330m).
It takes about 5 hours. Your trail meets occational view of Langtang Lirung between the trees. At Ghora Tabela (3000m) the trail emerged from the forest. The trail continues to climb gently and the valley widens passing a few temporary settlements used by herders who bring their livestock to graze in the high pastures during the summer months. There is a monastery which you can visit shortly before arriving at the village of Langtang, the headquater of Langtnag National park.

Day 7: Trek from Langtang village to Kyangjin (3730m).
`It takes about 4 and half hours. The trail climbs gradually through small villages and yak pastures as the valley opens out further and the views become more extensive. Crossing small streams ans moraines the trail reaches to Kyangjing and acclimatize the area. It is dramatic setting with snowy peaks surrounding in all direction and enjoy the view of Kyangjin RI (4750m), Tsergo RI (5000m), Gyanja La (5160m), Langshi-la RI (6427m), Dorji Lakpa (6430m), Naya kang (5844m), Yala peak (5500m) and others.

Day 8: Exploring and visiting monastery and cheese factory of Kyangjin.

Acclimatization in Kyangjin exploring and visiting monastery and cheese factory. You walk up the moraine to see the spectacular ice faces tumbling glaciers of Langtang Lirung or ascends Kyangjin RI (4350m) directly behind the village for a breathtaking panorama of the Langtang Peaks.

Day 9: Trek from Kyanjing Gompa to Ngegang (4000m).
It takes about 5 hours. There you can't see any villages. The trail goes on ascending and area is covered with little natural vegetation. Since there are no lodge available, you need to camp.

Day 10: Trek fro Ngegang to Keldang (5106m) via Ganja La Pass.
It takes about 5 and half hour. This day is comparatively strenuous as you need to cross the Ganja La Pass. You can find Ganja La Pass covered with snowy ice most of the times through out the year.

Day 11: Trek from Keldang to Dupku (4080m).
It takes about 5 and half hours. Your camping site will be inside the forest. This day, you will walk along ridge, grassland with amazing views of mountains.

Day 12: Trek from Dupke to Tarkeghyang (2740m).
It takes approximately 5 hours. The trail descends about 200m. Views from Pass are spectacular to the Annapurna Region and Mt. Everest region too. From pass, the trail descends through pine forests, rhododendron forest, past tiny herder's settlement to Tarkegyang. You can also visit Buddhist monastery in Sherpa village where villagers are well settled with friendly behavior.

Day 13: Trek from Tarkeghyang to Shermathang (2621m).
It takes about 5 hours. Your trial today is quiet easier through flat land with beautiful forest on the way. You trek on crossing some small streams on the way. There is a pretty beautiful Sherpa village, Shermathang where you can visist many ancient monasteries. You will have a view of Jughal Himal range at the north face of Shermathang village.

Day 14: Trek from Shermathang to Melamchi Pul Bazar (846m).
This takes approximately 5 hours. The trail gradually descends all the way to Melamchi Pul Bazar through meadows and cultivated lands. On the way, you come across several old villages with their own particular tradition. Walking this day is quiet pleasant with mountain views and interaction with local friendly people.

Day 15: Drive from Melamchi Pul Bazar to Kathmandu.
This takes about 6 hours. Travel through gravellled path and bumpy path upto Lamidanda and then you follow the pitched road upto Kathamandu.

Day 16: Transfer to International airport for your final departure by the representative.
