09 Nights and 10 Days from Arrival to departure (Kathmandu to Kathmandu).

Seasons: Nearly all season of the month can trek on Poon Hill Sunrise and Annapurna Panorama Trekking, except the wet months from mid-June to mid-September falls within Monsoon time with heavy rains and dark clouds to obstruct the views and walks. March to May the best time when morning to mid-day with clear fine weather for views and walks with mild temperatures, right times for treks to Ghorepani and Poon Hill with wildflowers in full bloom times, especially the rhododendron flowers. Rhododendron from tall trees to bushes with flowers that blossom of various species and colors that decorate the hill and valleys (national flower of Nepal), regarded as world’s largest natural garden around walks to Ghorepani to Tadapani areas. October to December months another best time for treks around autumn/fall and pre-winter where days are clear for views as well right temperatures for walks, can be cold during night and morning times with chances of snow in high areas of Annapurna above 1,800 meters high.

Poon Hill Sunrise and Annapurna Panorama Trekking certainly delights all trekkers on reaching high hills at Ghorepani village and up above Poon Hill located 3,210 m, the highest point of the adventure. Poon Hill surprises visitors facing stunning sunrise over an array of peaks that extends from Dhaulagiri-Nilgiri’s-Vara Shikar (Annapurna Fang) with a massive range of Annapurna Himalaya and continues east towards Manaslu and Ganesh Himal. Poon Hill Sunrise and Annapurna Panorama Trekking begins from the beautiful city at Pokhara situated on the laps of Annapurna Mountains with Machhapuchare Himal the Fish Tail peaks that reflect on its calm Phewa and Begnas Lakes. The walk begins after a short drive to reach high mid hills covered with serene woodland of rhododendron and pines trees and through several hill farm villages to reach scenic Ghorepani located in the midst of rhododendron forest. From Ghorepani, morning hike takes you at Poon Hill for sunrise over the chain of peaks with views of towering Machhapuchare Himal ‘Fish Tail’ a respected and virgin peak of Nepal Himalaya. After marvelous moments return journey lead ups and down past Tadapani and large Ghandruk villages of Gurung people, and then on the road-head for short drive back to scenic Pokhara, with glorious time and experience on Poon Hill Sunrise and Annapurna Panorama Trekking with great services of Yeti Mountain Treks guides and staff.

Day 04: Drive past Nayapul and trek to Tirkhedhunga 1,430 m - 04 hrs walk.

Day 05: Trek to Ghorepani 2,880 m/ 9,448 ft - 06 hrs via Ulleri village.

Day 06: Hike to Poon Hill 3,210m trek to Tadapani 2,630 m - 05 hrs.

Day 07: Trek to Ghandruk Village 1,940 m - 04 hrs.

Day 08: Trek down to road-head and drive past Nayapul to Pokhara - 05 hrs.

Day 09: Drive or fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Day 10: International departure for homeward bound.


Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

On arrival at Kathmandu international airport received by Yeti Mountain staff and guides for short transfer to your hotel in the center of Kathmandu city around interesting Thamel area or nearby. On checking into your rooms getting refreshed briefing of the treks with other useful information, with welcome dinner in nice Nepalese restaurants with cultural programs.

Day 02: Tour of Kathmandu heritage sites of great interest.

Morning by 9 a.m. where our city guide will take you for an interesting tour around great places steeped with world heritage sites and monuments, after a half day or full day tour back to hotel preparation for the treks.

Day 03: Fly or drive to Pokhara 860 m -06 hrs journey (30 mins by air).

Morning as per the group size either in comfortable tourist coach or in chartered cars where a drive leads to warmer low farm areas to reach Nepal Mid-West at Pokhara by the shore of beautiful Phewa Lake. Where all nice hotels located with views of lakes and Annapurna peaks overnight in the comfort of good hotels in Pokhara near to Phewa Lake.

Day 04: Drive past Nayapul and trek to Tirkhedhunga 1,430 m - 04 hrs walk.

Our short adventure begins with a short drive to reach outside Pokhara valley at Nayapul and Bhirethati village, where walks starts uphill past farm villages and beautiful waterfalls to reach at Hille and Tirkhedhunga for overnight stop after a good day walks.

Day 05: Trek to Ghorepani 2,880 m/ 9,448 ft - 06 hrs via Ulleri village.

From Tirkhedhunga morning leads to a steep climb to Ulleri village with views of Annapurna South and top of Machhapuchare Himal ‘ Fish Tail’ After Ulleri village walk past Bhanthati village, as trek leads into a cool alpine forest covered with tall rhododendron-magnolia-oaks-pines and fir trees as walk proceeds slowly then reaching at Ghorepani village for an overnight stop. Ghorepani populated by Poon people of Magar tribe located beneath Poon Hill viewpoint. 

Day 06: Hike to Poon Hill 3,210m trek to Tadapani 2,630 m - 05 hrs.

Rising early where an hour climb takes you up at scenic view-point on top Poon Hill situated above 3,210 m high, catch stunning sunrise views over the chain of Himalayan peaks from Dhaulagiri, Mustang Himal, Nilgiri’s, Annapurna, Machhapuchare peak with Lamjung and Manaslu Himal. After a scenic and dramatic moment descend to Ghorepani having breakfast continue to walk uphill to Deurali within forested area and downhill to another Bhanthati village. After a refreshing stop downhill to a stream and short climb up to reach at Tadapani for overnight located in the midst of a forest.

Day 07: Trek to Ghandruk Village 1,940 m - 04 hrs.

Short day morning walk facing mountain and through lovely tree lines and then downhill to reach an open area with views of Annapurna Himal. With refreshing break than on a winding path with downhill to reach a large Gurung people village at Ghandruk for an overnight stop as well for lunchtime. Here afternoon free to stroll around Gurung village and witness the hill people culture and heritage farm life visiting its interesting Gurung museum along with the views of Annapurna peaks.

Day 08: Trek down to road-head and drive past Nayapul to Pokhara - 05 hrs.

The morning last walk heading downhill to Modi River near Syali Bazaar then on a good path towards Bhirethati unto Nayapul where our wonderful trek ends taking few hours drives back to Pokhara, after a most enjoyable and scenic time on Poon Hill Sunrise and Annapurna Panorama Trekking.

Day 09: Drive or fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Morning transfer for the journey back to Kathmandu where a drive leads on the scenic and interesting road past farm villages and towns and then uphill to reach Kathmandu valley and the city. After an exciting drive of 5-6 hours reaching Kathmandu and transfer to hotel with afternoon free for individual activities.

Day 10: International departure for homeward bound.

Last day in Nepal the country of Himalayan wonders and impressive cultures, as your international flight time transfer to the international airport in Kathmandu for home-ward bound or to respective destinations, after a memorable experience on Poon Hill Sunrise and Annapurna Panorama Trekking with great services of Yeti Mountain Treks.
