Introduction:

Mt. Kailash Journey into holiest of all holy spot regarded as most sacred mountains in four great religions Hindu-Jain-Buddhist and for Bon sect of pre-Buddhism. Mt. Kailash Journey of life experience with an adventure on world highest and largest plateau of Tibet and wildest corners of the country Far South West that touches the border of western Nepal and northern India as far to Pakistan. Mt. Kailash Journey an amazing holy mountain and close to the sacred lake Manasarovar one the largest holy lake in Himalaya and around Asia where a holy dip and a bathe relinquishes the sin of a hundred lifetime a belief in Hindu religion. Starting Mt. Kailash Journey taking an exciting fly with himalayan view to Lhasa. Further we go to Khamba La, at 4794 meter, with a brief halt to savor majestic views of Yamdrok-tso turquoise Lake and Nazin Kang Sa, standing at 7252m.  Continueing our journey we explore Gyantse Dzong and Kumbum. Gyantse Dzong, a 14th century historical fort, overlooks the entire Gyantse and the surrounding Nyang Chu Valley. Ashilhunpo Monastery, being one of the largest functioning monasteries in Tibet, which is situated at Shigatse, (3900m). After that we explore Mansarovar, Darchen, Dirapuk, Zutulpuk, Darchen, Saga, Lhatse, Sigatse.

Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Fly to Lhasa 3,660 m and drive to your hotel.

Early morning after breakfast you will be transferred from the Hotel to the International Airport Kathmand. You fly with sweeping panoramic flight to Tibet, on arrival you will be received at the Gongar Airport by our Tibetan city tour guide. Less than two hours of good drive reaches you at Lhasa and to the best Lhasa's Hotel, afternoon free for short walk around the Market Square.

Day 02-03: In Lhasa with sightseeing tour.

Guided tour in Lhasa of JOKHANG TEMPLE, BARKHOR MARKET SQUARE, POTALA PALACE, NORBULINGKHA SUMMER PALACE with SERA & DREPUNG MONASTERIES. At Lhasa with an interesting tour of important sites around its historical and religious places, beginning with short drive west of Lhasa towards a hilltop with a tour of old Drepung Monastery, in the early day home of all high priest and Dalia Lamas before Potala Palace was built. Here visit the main prayer halls with monks on deep prayers where Drepung means a heap of rice with its whitewashed buildings as it looks from a distance views, after a great interesting visit drive to Shera Monastery where you can witness young monks on the exciting debate, which deepens their knowledge of all types to reach their priesthood. Afternoon tour of magnificent Potala Palace known as ' Heavenly Realm' with 1,000 rooms where visitors can tour only the main important interior of 8 to 10 rooms of great significance. Potala Palace stands in the hub of Lhasa city a beautiful Landmark of Tibet, where main-superior priest Dalai Lama residence till 14 the last Dalai Lama, at present turn into a museum. After an impressive tour back to busy colorful Barkhor Market Square with time to visit Jharkhand Temple, the oldest religious sites of Tibet. As the day ends in Lhasa.

Day 04: Lhasa to Gyantse (3950m) 261 km:

As we get going along the Friendship Highway, you drive past Khamba La, at 4794 meter, with a brief halt to savor majestic views of Yamdrok-tso turquoise Lake and Nazin Kang Sa, standing at 7252m. On turning westwards, you come across another pass, Karo La at 5045m. If you look carefully down the road, you can see huge glaciers that seem to be tumbling down. After driving 261 km, beautifully landscaped colourful Tibetan villages come into view as you enter the booming town of Gyantse. Overnight at your hotel

Day 05: Drive fromGyantse to Sigatse (3900m) 90km

Gyantse is proud of the Gyantse Dzong and Kumbum. Gyantse Dzong, a 14th century historical fort, overlooks the entire Gyantse and the surrounding Nyang Chu Valley. Kumbum has a large gold-domed stupa and houses several chapels and Tibetan Buddhist murals. After exploring Gyantse, you take a 90 km drive and arrive at Shigatse, (3900m) the second largest Tibetan city. Tashilhunpo Monastery, being one of the largest functioning monasteries in Tibet is the major attraction of Xigatse. Overnight at your hotel

Day 06: Sigatse to Saga (4050 m) 495km

After driving for 495km at 4050 0m. You can then view spectacular sights of Mount Everest. It’s a scenic drive through the highest point at Gyatchu La pass (5,220m) en-route and we continue to drive towards Saga. Overnight in Guest house.  

Day 07: Drive from Saga to Mansarovar (5200m) 560 km 9-10-hours

After an early morning breakfast, we get set on our way to Manasarovar we come across Jeeps and trucks rolling down the wide valley following rivers and grazing herds of yaks and sheep. Far south your eyes wander to the snow covered peaks that seem so close and we drive through the Paryang and crossing the Mayumla Pass, with lots of rocky peaks and sand dunes that give you an ideal idea of Tibet’s arid landscapes. Depending on the season, nomads and other mobile shopkeepers attired in their beautiful traditional costumes can be found awaiting your arrival with hot tea and other supplies along with a big smile from ear to ear…they welcome you warmly.

This route digs deep into the very essence that is Mansarovar Lake amid superb landscapes. As you near this incredible sacred lake, historic Chiu Monastery becomes visible on the North West shore of the lake. From this vantage point, you can even catch a glimpse of the majestic Mount Kailash. This journey stirs your spiritual emotions. Overnight in guest house.

Day 08: Drive from Mansarovar to Darchen (4560m)

The highest fresh water lake of a turquoise color is full of fishes and swans. Holy Kailash Parbat, Mt. Gurula-Mandata, & Lake Rishikesh can be found in its surroundings. The region is considered rich for gold and other mines, hot springs and hundreds of wild living fauna. We explore the Lake Mansarovar in the day & then drive down to Darchen which is a one-hour drive. We then spend our night at Chu Gumba.

Day 09: Trek from Darchen to Dirapuk (4900m)

Early in the morning after breakfast, our trek begins; you meet your team of yaks and Tibetan yak drivers who will escort you around for the kora. Further ahead from Darchen, you have to trek past verdant meadows and picturesque streams to Lha Chu Valley. The trail overlooks Turquoise River cascading over a narrow canyon with high steep cliffs. En route, the north face of Kailash comes into vision. The trail will approach the 13th century monastery of Dira-Puk. Visiting this monastery is said to be a kind of blessing experience gifted in your Mount Kailash tour and trek. Finally, you will conclude the trek of the day by camping at Dira-Puk / resting in a guest house.

Day 10: Trek Dirapuk to Zutulpuk (4790m) 08.00 hrs.

Lha Chu Valley is a passing vista as you turn towards Drolma Chu Valley. Looking forward to the amazing Mount Kailash tour and trek, you ascend to Drolma La (5630m), the highest point of the trip. But soon after sighting breathtaking views of Thukpe Dzingbu Lake, known as the Lake of Compassion at the summit, you realize that this imposing and challenging ascent has indeed been very worthwhile and profitable. Several prayer flags can be seen at the summit. Further on, the trail descends to the flat fields of Zutul-Puk which houses a monastery and several fascinating caves. The caves at this locale are most popular for meditation; Milarepa’s cave being one of them with Milarepa’s footprints and elbow prints believed to be imprinted all over this cave of mani stones. As we continue our Parikrama, we camp at Zutul-Puk for the night & this is pretty exciting, adventurous and pleasurable.

Day 11: Trek from Zutulpuk to Darchen and drive to Saga

Our pilgrimage trek concludes at Darchen and we drive to Saga overnight guest house. We feel spiritually satisfied after going to the religious rites during our parikrama & there is a deep sense of gratification as we wearily go to bed after a hard day

Day 12:  Drive from Saga to Lhatse

Drive to LHATSE and overnight in guest house.

Day 13: Lhatse to sigatse (3900m)

Day 14: Drive from Sigatse to Lhasa, 260km Aprox 5-6 hour drive

Day 04: Drive to Gondor Airport and fly to Kathmandu - 1 hr: 15 mins flights.

Depending upon flight time for Kathmandu, our Tibetan guide transfer you to Gondor Airport international airport about an hour drive from Lhasa for flight back to Kathmandu, as per your time board into Air China for scenic sweeping air journey of an hour with amazing panorama of Himalayan chain of peaks with Everest at close distance as plane lands at Kathmandu airport. From Kathmandu airport transfer back to your hotel with the afternoon free for individual activities.
