Day 11: Drive Trek from Jakar to Wangdi

Detail Itinerary

Day 01: - Arrive Paro and transfer to Hotel

Depending upon the flight time to Paro, Bhutan either morning or in afternoon time, our staff transfer you to Kathmandu international airport, after checking in boarding in Bhutan national carrier “Druk Air” a super scenic flight to Paro with amazing views of high snow-capped peaks including Mt. Everest, Makalu and Kanchenjunga and on reaching at Paro airport with mountains of Bhutan. On arrival at Paro International Airport, our representative will receive you and transfer to hotel. Depends on your arrival time, enjoys afternoon sightseeing around Paro, including a visit to the Ta Dzong Museum housing many religious relics, works of art, and handicrafts are offering an excellent orientation into Bhutan’s historical, cultural, and religious past. Visit the Paro Rinpung Dzong, Kichu Lhakhang, the oldest temple in the country. In the evening, visit Paro town, stroll through its quaint two streets, and browse through the shops. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Paro Sightseeing

Today we spent sightseeing at Paro, we start drive to Drugyal Dzong, the dzong, although in ruins, holds great historical significance, Visit a typical Bhutanese farm house on the way back. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day 03: Drive from Paro to Thimphu

We drive from to Thimpu and lunch at hotel.  After some rest, we visit around the Memorial Chorten, dedicated to the Late Third King. Overnight in hotel.

Day 04: Thimphu Sightseeing

Early morning After your breakfast, our guide will pick you from your hotel and start Thimphu Sightseeing. In the first hour visit the Memorial Chorten, a huge stupa built in memory of the third King who reigned from 1952 - 1972. Then visit National Library which has vast collection of ancient Buddhist texts and manuscript. After that drive to painting school, famous for traditional thangkha paintings. And visit handicrafts emporium. We take lunch in the local hotel and start visit in afternoon at pangri Zampa Monastery, that is located beyond Dechencholing Palace.

Later visit Tashichho Dzong in evening and stay overnight in hotel at Thimphu.

Day 05: Drive from Thimphu  Trongsa

We start journey to Central Bhutan today. The drive to Trongsa takes about 7-8 hours from Thimphu. Pack lunch stop at Chendebji Chorten. Overnight at Hotel in Trongsa.

Day 06: Trongsa to Jakar (Bumthang)

Drive for 2 and half hours to Jakar. Bumthang is a land of myth and mystery and tales of the great Guru Padmasambhava who performed formidable feats and miracles here. A beautiful view of Jakar Dzong (“Castle of the White Bird”) can be seen from view Point. Lunch will be served in hotel. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day 07: Rest day at Bumthang

Visit the Dairy Farm, the Swiss Cheese Factory and apple Juice factory. Walk around Bumthang valley in preparation for the excursion to Nganglakhang.

Day 08: Trek from Bumthang to Nganglhakhang, 6 hours

We start our trek today early morning, the route follows the Chamkharchu, river rich in trout. Stop for lunch at Thangbi Lhakhang. From here the trek enters the Ngang Yul (Land of the Swan) at the center of which lies the Nganglhakhang, which is also called swan temple. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day 09: Trek from Nganglhakhang to Ugyenchholing (9300ft), 8 hours.

Today we have quite hard day, the trek starts form climb to Phepela Pass at an altitude of 3353 mtrs, the highest point of the trek route. The trail passes through beautiful forested areas where many stops can be made to enjoy the natural beauty of the place. We reach to Ugyenchholing stay overnight at camp.

Day 10: Trek Ugyenchholing to Jakar (9000ft), 3 hours.

Today we will have short trek, the trail follows the Tang Chu, another trout-filled river. On the bank of the river is the Tang Rimpoche Lhakhang. The trek will pass the Membar Tsho (Flaming lake). From Panshing, the group will be picked-up by transport and driven to Jakar. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day 11: Drive Trek from Jakar to Wangdi

Drive to Wangdi along the East – west Highway. Stops can be made along the way to enjoy the scenery. Overnight in hotel.

Day 12: Drive from Wangdi to Thimphu to Paro. 

We drive from wangdi to through Thimpu to Paro and stay overnight at hotel.

Day 13: Depature from Paro Airport

After breakfast, our representative will drop you at Paro International Airport for your flight to your onward destinations.
