Shisapangma as experience an adventure of a lifetime heading across Himalayan Mountains from Nepal side to reach at Tibetan frontier at Kyirong and then into the arid and dry windswept country, completely out of this world. The journey continues past farm villages within Yak country crossing highest pass over Gyatso-la 5,220 m to reach Tibet’s second largest city at Shigatse. Shigatse home of Panchen Lama second to Dalai Lama, with a tour of Shigatse Tashi-Lumpo monasteries complex, a marvelous place and then towards Yamdrok known as turquoise lake and reach over high Khamba-la pass and then to Lhasa. In Lhasa enjoy a wonderful time with an exciting tour of old Drefung-Shera monasteries of great interest includes magnificent Potala Palace, a former winter resident of Dalai Lama, where tour leads you at colorful Barkhor Square and market the central hub of Lhasa, witness local culture and custom of Buddhism religions within Lhasa and on the route. Outline Itinerary:

Day 1: Kathmandu (1300) -Kerung Border (145 Km) 06-07 hours' drive

Day 2: Drive Kerong to Tingri (4350M), 245KM, 07-08 hour.

Day 3: Tingri to Ronbuk

Day 4: Drive from Ronbuk to Sigatse(3900m), 344km, 9 hours.

Day 5: Sigatse-Gyantse (3,950M), 90KM, 2 hours

Day 6: Gyantse to Lhasa (3650M):261 KM

Day 7-8: In Lhasa with sightseeing tour at places of great interest.

Day 09: Drive to Gondor Airport and fly to Kathmandu - 1 hr: 15 mins flights.


Detail Itinerary

Day 1: Kathmandu (1300) -Kerung Border (145 Km) 06-07 hours' drive

Early in the morning we start scenic drive to Kerung Border, which is Nepal-Tibet Border through the beautiful Nepalese countryside and after necessary border formalities at Nepalese immigration, an hour adventurous uphill drive by Bus & jeep (normally) or 2 hour walk uphill (in case of landslide to Chinese immigration, check-in to hotel or Continue drive to Kerung. Stay overnight at Guest House in Kerung.

Day 2: Drive Kerong to Tingri (4350M), 245KM, 07-08 hour.

Day drive to the highest plateau of the world with typical landscape offering the sheer feeling of being on the roof of the world crossing over the 5,050 meters LALUNGA pass, from where you can view the breathtaking mountain range from Mt.Cho Oyu (8,201m) Mt.Xishapagma ( 8,012m) dwarfed by the vastness of Tibetan plateau (if weather permits). One can also take a magnificent view of Mt. Everest (8,848m) from Tingri/ Lhatse. Overnight in Guest house.

Day 3: Tingri to Ronbuk

Early morning, after breakfast drive to RONBUK, which is about 100 km from Tingri and afternoon excursion in Everest base camp. If you wish to ride horse to EBC it cost 100Yuyan per person.

Day 3: Drive Ronbuk to Sigatse (3900m), 344km, 9 hours. 

We start drive very early in the morning, Scenic drive through the highest point, Gyatchu La pass (5,220m) en route. Stay, overnight in hotel.

Day 5: Sigatse-Gyantse (3,950M), 90KM, 2 hours

Morning sightseeing to the Panchen Lama’s Tashilumpu Monastery. Drive through the Tibet’s biggest Agricultural field to Gyantse and visit to the Kumbum Stupa & Palkor Monastery. Stay overnight in Hotel.

Day 6: Gyantse to Lhasa (3650M):261 KM

Full day picturesque drive along the turquoise lake Yamadrok, crossing over Kampala Pass (4794M) and the Brahma Putra River (Yarlung Tsangpo). Stay overnight in hotel.

Day 7-8: In Lhasa with sightseeing tour at places of great interest.

Guided tour in Lhasa of JOKHANG TEMPLE, BARKHOR BAZAAR, POTATLA PALACE, DEPRUNG AND SERA MONASTERIES. At Lhasa with an interesting tour of important sites around its historical and religious places, beginning with short drive west of Lhasa towards a hilltop with a tour of old Drepung Monastery, in the early day home of all high priest and Dalia Lamas before Potala Palace was built. Here visit the main prayer halls with monks on deep prayers where Drepung means a heap of rice with its whitewashed buildings as it looks from a distance views, after a great interesting visit drive to Shera Monastery where you can witness young monks on the exciting debate, which deepens their knowledge of all types to reach their priesthood. Shera monastery located north of Lhasa after an interesting time with a lunch break in local Tibetan / Chinese restaurants, afternoon tour of magnificent Potala Palace known as ' Heavenly Realm' with 1,000 rooms where visitors can tour only the main important interior of 8 to 10 rooms of great significance. Potala Palace stands in the hub of Lhasa city a beautiful Landmark of Tibet, where main-superior priest Dalai Lama residence till 14 the last Dalai Lama, at present turn into a museum. After an impressive tour back to busy colorful Barkhor Market Square with time to visit Jharkhand Temple, the oldest religious sites of Tibet. As the day ends in Lhasa, with time for individual activities around Lhasa before dinner time on last day in Lhasa.

Day 09: Drive to Gondor Airport and fly to Kathmandu - 1 hr: 15 mins flights.

Depending upon flight time for Kathmandu, our Tibetan guide transfer you to Gondor Airport international airport about an hour drive from Lhasa for flight back to Kathmandu, as per your time board into Air China for scenic sweeping air journey of an hour with amazing panorama of Himalayan chain of peaks with Everest at close distance as plane lands at Kathmandu airport. From Kathmandu airport transfer back to your hotel with the afternoon free for individual activities.
