A great place for country walks with scenic views of high mountains of Langtang Himal along with Ganesh-Manaslu and Jugal Himal range with glorious moments visiting quaint and impressive farm villages of ethnic hill tribe of Nepal Himalaya where you can soak into the culture of the native of Langtang region.

Beginning our adventure first with a drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi within Langtang Himal located around Nepal Central Himalaya where walks lead on Tamang Heritage Trail following on an ancient route of Nepal and Tibet, exploring interesting culture and custom of Tamang people interwoven with Buddhism teaching.

After a great enjoyable time on Tamang Heritage Trail heading towards beautiful Langtang valley at scenic Kyanjin, as our route leads into the deep lovely forest of pines and rhododendron and then leaving the tree lines behind on reaching a wide lovely place at Kyanjin within marvelous Langtang Valley enclosed by series of mighty peaks.

With time here to enjoy short walks to best view-point hills and then our next journey leads to much higher and scenic ridges to reach at holy Gosainkund, a glacial pond regarded as sacred where great religious festival held once a year in the month of August, Hindu pilgrims visits in great numbers for a dip and a bath in the icy pond to cleanse the sin of hundreds lifetimes.

From Gosainkund heading further higher ground to cross over Gosainkund pass also called East Laurabinaya-La at the height of 4,610 m / 5,124 ft high facing incredible landscapes and mountain views.

After having enjoyable and magnificent time around high hills and valley of Langtang Himal best destination areas where walks gentle heads towards the east of Kathmandu valley rim to complete this fabulous and marvelous adventure on Langtang Himal Best Destinations Trekking with grand services of Nepal High Point Trekking staff and guides.

Outline Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu sightseeing, visit world heritage site

Day 15: Trek to Gopte Odar 3,430m via Laurabinaya -la and Gosainkunda Pass 4,610 m / 15,124 ft - 07 hrs.

Day 16: Trek to Kutumsang 2,470 m- 06 hrs.

Day 17: Trek to Chisapani 2,165 m - 06 hrs.

Day 18: Trek to Sundarijal 1,460 m and drive to Kathmandu- 04 hrs.     

Day 19: Depart Nepal for international flight home-ward bound.


Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

On reaching at Kathmandu international airport received by our staff and guide with a warm welcome then transfer to your hotel in centre of Kathmandu city, after getting refreshed in your rooms join for group briefing regarding your stay in Nepal, where guides will provide information about the trek-local lodge-hotels-culture and other necessary information related to this treks.

Day 02: Kathmandu sightseeing, visit world heritage site

Sightseeing around Kathmandu, as the valley is steeped with many world heritage sites and important monuments and religious-historical sites. You will visit Pashupatinath (Hindu Temple), Baudanath stupa, Swyambhunath stupa (Mokey temple), Patan durbar square.

Day 03: Drive to Syabrubesi 1,503 m - 06 hrs.

Morning early morning start after breakfast, for the long and interesting overland journey towards Nepal’s North-West highway reaching warmer areas of Nuwakot at Trisuli Bazaar, as the drive continues to cooler region reaching in Dhunche headquarter town of Rasuwa district, where Langtang National Park starts. Drive continue following farm village on downhill till Syabrubesi village to end the driving journey of the day with a first overnight stop at Syabrubesi village. 

Day 04:  Trek to Gatlang 2,238 m- 05 hrs.

First day starts heading due west avoiding motorable road for old trekking trail to reach Gatlang village, walk continues past several spread-out farm areas of Tamang people, and then with gradual climb to reach one of the largest village of the area at Gatlang populated by Tamang tribes, on arrival with warm greeting and traditional hospitality, and then transfer to local home-stay for overnight stop, with time to explore around this interesting villages and interact with locals.

Day 05:  Trek to Tatopani 2,607m- 05 hrs. 

Morning begins facing views of Ganesh and Langtang peaks and as far north of Tibetan range of mountains, where slow climb leads past farm villages and into alpine woodlands to reach at Tatopani for overnight stop with time around afternoon to enjoy in its natural hot springs as 'Tatopani’ means hot water, where you can take a short walk to have good refreshing time in the warm pools.

Day 06:  Trek to Thuman 2,400 m via Nagthali 3.165 m - 06 hrs.

On leaving Tatopani enjoying its warm pools and cultural villages, as morning walk leads on the trail towards Tibet border for few hours to reach at Thuman village via high Nagthali ridge. A gentle walk follows on the gradual winding path towards the north and then with a climb for some hours encountering few short descend overlooking views of Ganesh Himal and Langtang Himal, as walk leads enter into the cool shade of alpine woodland then reaching Nagthali village. Here with a possible lunch stop, and then continue walks to our overnight stop at Thuman village with ample time to explore around this nice remote farm village of immense culture and age-old heritage.

Day 07:  Trek to Briddim 2,345 m - 06 hrs. 

After a wonderful time on this rural farm village with views of snow-clad peaks, morning walk starts with a climb to a ridge with more super scenery of surrounding green landscapes dotted with villages and of mountains. As walk progress heading into a nice forest full of rhododendron, pines and oaks trees and then slowly our day comes to an end on reaching at Briddim village for an overnight stop.

Day 08:  Trek to Lama Hotel 2,240m -06 hours.

Morning walks begins on leaving Briddim village heading back on the main trail of Langtang valley into deeply forested areas, as walk progress walk leads to short ups and downhill to reach a main trail of Langtang at Lama Hotel located by the upper Trisuli River known as Langtang Khola (stream).

Day 09:  Trek to Langtang Village 3,430 m – 06 hrs.

Morning walk leads into dense woodland around river gorge to reach a small place at Ghodetabela with few houses serving as a lodge, with time here for a possible lunch stop and then start walking into deep forest to reach our overnight destination at Langtang village encountering some Buddhist religious monuments of prayer walls and spinning bells. Populated by Tamang tribes where you can catch views of Langtang Lirung above the village, the area around Langtang was badly shaken and damaged from avalanche caused by April 25th and May 15th huge 2015 earthquakes, this and around other villages slowly getting back to normal life.

Day 10:  Trek to Kyanjin 3,830 m / 12, 565 ft - 04 hrs.                                                     

From Langtang village, where morning leads to walking to reach at Kyanjin within scenic Langtang valley, with a short climb to reach a hilltop and then on gradual path entering into a wide open valley of Langtang and at Kyanjin with many good lodges for the overnight stay. Kyanjin offers tremendous mountain panorama within the beautiful Langtang valley enclosed by an array of giant peaks.

Day 11:  Trek to Lama Hotel - 06 hrs.  

After lovely moments around beautiful Langtang valley at Kyanjin, where morning walks leads back on the same route, with ample to view places of interest. A nice walk leads you back into farm villages of Langtang and Ghodetabla and entering into dense rhododendron and bamboo forest to reach at Lama Hotel for overnight stops in the midst of wonderful green surroundings, located in a river gorge of upper Trisuli or Langtang Khola.

Day 12: Trek to Thulo Syabru 2,120 m - 05 hrs.           

Morning walk on the same route for an hour to reach at a small River Side with few lodge and shops surrounded by bamboo groves, from here climb over a hill to reach at Thulo Syabru, where houses are closely lined up on a ridge top, here with time to explore around Tamang village with an old monastery perched on top of this village.                                                                                                                                              Day 13:  Trek to Sing-Gompa / Chandanbari 3,330 m - 05 hrs.                         

From Thulo or Upper Syabru village morning leads to steep climb into terraced farm fields and villages, entering cool dense lovely alpine forest filled with tall rhododendron-magnolia-oaks-pines and fir tree lines, heading past cattle herders shelters and grazing land to reach Sing Gompa also called Chandanbari (place with sandalwood trees), at Sing-Gompa overnight in a nice lodge, with afternoon free visit its small cheese factory and old monastery situated on top of the village. 

Day 14: Trek to Gosainkund 4,200 m / 13,779 ft- 05 hrs.                                                     

After Sing Gompa and Chandanbari small village, morning leads with great views of Langtang and Ganesh-Himal as far towards Manaslu and Annapurna range in the west, a route leads higher up for an hour into rhododendron forest. Walking past green forested areas as walk continues heading for a steep climb after leaving behind tall tree trees for small rhododendron and juniper bushes, walk continues past some teahouses at a place called Laurabinaya, and then a descend to reach at Saraswati and Bhairabkund ponds where short climb takes you to overnight stop at Gosainkund close to its calm and clear glacial pond.  At Gosainkund, where great religious festival held once a year called Janai Purnima (Full Moon) in the month of August, great numbers of Hindu and Buddhists pilgrims throng the lake for a holy bath, as per Hindu popular belief, a huge rock at the center of the pond at one time had Shiva temple. 

Day 15: Trek to Gopte Odar 3,430m via Laurabinaya -la and Gosainkunda Pass 4,610 m / 15,124 ft - 07 hrs.

Enjoying pleasant time around the sacred pond of Gosainkund, where morning walk leads uphill between rocks and boulders, as walk heads past smaller ponds where the trail winds up to reach on top Gosainkund pass or Laurabinaya La, the highest spot of the adventure.  From the pass, a long downhill walk to reach Phedi means the bottom of a hill or pass, a small settlement with few teahouses, after refreshing stop continue walk heading east towards Helambu region and back into green vegetations and tree lines then reaching our overnight stop in a small place Gopte (means overhanging rocks).

Day 16: Trek to Kutumsang 2,470 m- 06 hrs.

Morning walk leads on the route where Helambu and Kathmandu trails join, from this isolated spot walk into the forest with some ups and down for an hour with last climb on top Thadepatti a scenic ridge overlooking views of high mountain range. After some rest walk leads downhill and back into farm fields to reach overnight stop in Kutumsang, an interesting farm village with mixed hill tribes of Sherpa, Hyalmo and Tamang people.

Day 17: Trek to Chisapani 2,165 m - 06 hrs.

Morning start towards Chisapani leads on the trail towards Kathmandu as our route heads on a winding path with few ups and down past farm villages to reach Gul-Bhanjyang.  After a refreshing break continues to trek on a nice and pleasant trail to reach at Pati Bhanjyang village, from here with a short steep climb to reach last overnight stop at Chisapani. A scenic and beautiful spot where offers grand views of sunrise and sunset over mountain panorama of Langtang, Jugal Himal range with Ganesh Himal-Manaslu and Annapurna range in the far west direction.

Day 18: Trek to Sundarijal 1,460 m and drive to Kathmandu- 04 hrs.           

Our last day walk of the adventure catching stunning sunrise views over chain of Himalayan peaks with Langtang range, where morning walk leads downhill into serene forest and farm village to reach Sundarijal (means beautiful water) where freshwater reservoir supplies for Kathmandu city, as walk continues down at Sundarijal small town for short exciting drive leads past famous Bouddhanath Stupa to reach back to your hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 19: Depart Nepal for international flight home-ward bound.

Last day in the country of Himalayan wonders, after an amazing experience and wonderful memories of Langtang Himal Best Destination treks with great service of Nepal High-Point Trekking and then depart from the hotel as per your flight time our staff transfers you to Kathmandu international airport for your homeward flight or to next respective countries.

Here’s a complete rundown of what to bring if you’re planning a trek to Everest Base Camp or any other tea-house trek in Nepal.  Proper preparation and equipment for the conditions will go a long way to ensuring you have a great trekking experience.  What follows is a pretty comprehensive list and will make sure you are covered in the coldest months of the year.   • Separate photocopies of passport, visa form (easily obtained at Kathmandu airport), proof of insurance
