Mardi Himal with Annapurna Base Camp and Poon Hill Trekking starts from scenic and beautiful Pokhara city and its verdant valley enclosed within green hills and views of Annapurna peaks that reflects on its serene lakes.

Where walk leads you from warm low farm field to enter high green hill covered with enchanting woodland of tall rhododendron and pines trees visiting first to Mardi Himal, where trek leads away from the main trail to enter perfect wilderness of forest and mountains within serene surroundings at the bottom of Mardi Himal and magnificent Machhapuchare Himal ‘Fish Tail’ peak.

After Mardi Himal exploring the high ridge of Annapurna region then route diverts on the main trail back into farm villages and river gorge to reach Annapurna Sanctuary and base camp hidden within the array of giant peaks of Annapurna range with exciting moments and then heading towards our next adventure to reach high Poon Hill.

Walk leads through many impressive farm villages and beautiful woodland along with fabulous views to reach at Ghorepani village the home of Poon / Magar tribes where Poon Hill located, morning an hour hike to reach at famous Poon Hill that offers stunning sunrise views over wide range of Himalayan peaks from Dhaulagiri-Annapurna as far towards Manaslu range in the east direction.

With enjoyable and scenic time at Poon Hill facing dramatic scenery of landscapes and mountains with sunrise then downhill to a warmer country where drive brings you back at lovely Pokhara by its Phewa Lake, after a mesmerizing experience and adventure on Mardi Himal with Annapurna Base Camp and Poon Hill Trekking.

Outline Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu, gretted by one of our airport representative and transfer to hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu city tour world heritage sites.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara and again drive to Kande then trek to Potana.

Day 04: Trek to Kokar Forest camp 2,515 m via Deurali 2, 050 m - 05 hrs.

Day 05: Trek to Low Camp 2,968 m - 025 hrs.

Day 06: Trek to High Camp 3,710 m - 05 hrs.

Day 07: At High Camp for hike to Mardi Himal base camp above 4,495 m.

Day 08: Trek to Low Camp - 06 hrs. 

Day 09: Trek to Landruk village 1,520 m - 05 hrs.

Day 10: Trek to Chomrong 1,955 m - 06 hrs.              

Day 11:  Trek to Himalayan hotel.

Day 12:  Trek to Annapurna Base Camp 4,130 m - 04 hrs.

Day 13:  Trek to Bamboo 2,050 m - 06 hrs.

Day 14: Trek to Tadapani 2,630 m - 05 hrs.

Day 15: Trek to Ghorepani village 2,880 m - 05 hrs.

Day 16: Trek to Birenthanti and drive to Pohara 

Day 17: Drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Day 18: Depart Nepal for international flight home-ward bound.


Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

On reaching Kathmandu international airport received by our staff and guide with a warm welcome then transfer to your hotel in the center of Kathmandu city, after getting refreshed in your rooms join for group briefing regarding your stay in Nepal, where guides will provide information about the trek-local lodge-hotels-culture and other necessary information related to this trekking.

Day 02: Kathmandu sightseeing.

Sightseeing around Kathmandu, as the valley is steeped with many world heritage sites and important monuments and religious-historical sites. You will visit Pashupatinath (Hindu Temple), Baudanath stupa, Swyambhunath stupa (Mokey temple), Patan durbar square.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara and again drive to Kande then trek to Potana.

The morning after early breakfast transfer for a long drive of 5 to 6 hours of exciting drive to reach the scenic city in Pokhara, located Nepal Mid-West a warmer country but with incredible views of Annapurna Himalaya that reflects on its calm Begnas and Phewa Lakes. On reaching Pokhara then further drive to Kande and trek to Potana. 

Day 04: Trek to Kokar Forest camp 2,515 m via Deurali 2, 050 m - 05 hrs.

Catch lovely morning views of Annapurna range and then taking a slow climb into forest to reach at Deurali situate above 2,050 m high rewards you with super views of scenic landscapes and mountains, from here our route diverts away from the main trail heading into hidden pockets of Annapurna Himalaya to reach Forest or Jungle Camp also called Kokar located in the midst of beautiful forest. 

Day 05: Trek to Low Camp 2,968 m - 05 hrs.

From Forest Camp, morning walk leads higher on the uphill path with a steep climb to reach a pasture land for an overnight stop on route Mardi base camp at Low Camp also called as Badal Danda, a high ridge with a couple of nice simple lodge facing super views of surrounding landscapes and mountains at close range.

Day 06: Trek to High Camp 3,710 m - 05 hrs.

From peaceful spot, morning walk leads with climb into dense woods of tall rhododendron-hemlocks-oaks-magnolia and pine trees, as walk slowly follows the hidden trails within tranquil environment with glimpse of peaks and then heading closer to mountains where tree lines stops for short alpine bushes and shrubs with dwarf rhododendron known as azalea, junipers and Burberry  facing towering Machhapuchare Himal ‘Fish Tail’ with Mardi Himal at close distance. Slowly walk leads to high ridges at High Camp for an overnight stop, afternoon enjoy marvelous views of grand landscapes and snow-capped mountains. 

Day 07: At High Camp for a hike to Mardi Himal base camp above 4,495 m.

Another overnight stop at High Camp, where hike takes you at the base of Mardi Himal, walks follows a faint trail on the high ridge of Mardi Himal facing grand panorama of Annapurna Himalayan range, leading at the bottom of Mardi Himal located right beneath the towering peak of Machhapuchare ‘Fish Tail’. Here great views and on the highest spot of the adventure above 4,495 m high within mountains and then retrace walk back to High Camp for last overnight around high Mardi Himal area.

Day 08: Trek to Low Camp - 06 hrs.

From High Camp enjoying wonderful time around high hills of Mardi and Annapurna Himalaya, where morning walks leads on the same path retracing the journey back at Low Camp for an overnight stop.

Day 09: Trek to Landruk village 1,520 m - 05 hrs.

Morning from Low and High Camp with last day around Mardi Himal areas as walk takes you on the new fresh trail within forested areas on a gradual winding path and then descend to a large Gurung village at Landruk with views of Annapurna South and Huinchuli peaks. A nice place for an overnight stop and explore the village and witness the local Gurung traditional farm life.

Day 10: Trek to Chomrong 1,955 m - 06 hrs.              

From Landruk morning walks downhill on the stone paved steps all the way to reach at River Modi, after crossing a bridge on nice trail with short climb past Jhinu village, where few hours climb reaches you at Chomrong, a large Gurung village as well last permanent farm settlement on route to Annapurna Base Camp and Sanctuary.

Day 11:  Trek to Himalayan Hotel 

Morning at Chomrong facing views of Annapurna peaks, where walks heads with short descends to cross a bridge over Chomrong stream and then climb to Sinuwa, located on a high ridge with a couple of Tea-House and shops. After a short refreshing stop at Sinuwa where walk leads to Himalayan hotel. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day 12:  Trek to Annapurna Base Camp 4,130 m - 04 hrs.

After overnight stop at Hialaya hotel an easy and short morning walk to reach at Annapurna base camp. Annapurna Base Camp, the only base camp in all Himalaya regions having the facility of the nice and cozy lodge with nice food menu and rooms facing grand views of Annapurna peaks.

Day 13:  Trek to Bamboo 2,050 m - 06 hrs.

Today a long walk after enjoying beautiful views of mountains at Annapurna base camp, walk leads to more than six hours on the downhill with few short ups to reach a Bamboo place for overnight stop within back into tree lines and lush vegetation.

Day 14: Trek to Tadapani 2,630 m - 05 hrs.

Morning walk leads past farm village of Gurjung to reach a bridge over Kimrong River, and then climb into cool rhododendron and pine forest as walk continues heading past few cattle herders shades and grazing land, with few hours steep climbs to reach Tadapani, located in the midst of the lovely forest with grand views of Annapurna peaks.

Day 15: Trek to Ghorepani village 2,880 m - 05 hrs.

From Tadapani with a pleasant overnight stop, as morning walk leads to short descend and then climb into woodland to reach a small place Bhanthati located on a gorge, and then climb to Deurali a high hill with excellent views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna peaks. After Deurali a short climb and then long downhill to reach at Ghorepani within oaks-pines and rhododendron forest, where walk slowly nears at Ghorepani village, a nice place offers fabulous views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, and Vara-Shikar also called Annapurna Fang, village with blue painted houses serving as good lodges located at the base of Poon Hill, populated with Poon people of Magar ethnic tribe.

Day 16: Trek to Birendrathanti and drive back to Pokhara. 

Our last day within farm areas of Annapurna, where morning take few an hour drive to reach Pokhara, as journey heads through many smaller farm villages and towns and then reaching at scenic Pokhara for overnight stops by the famous and scenic Phewa Lake.

Day 17: Drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Having early breakfast where interesting drive brings you back in Kathmandu, as drive departs from Pokhara as journey leads past many nice farm villages and town, from Mugling Bazaar following Trisuli River for sometimes, and then on winding uphill to reach into Kathmandu valley as well back to your respective hotels. 

Day 18: Depart Nepal for international flight home-ward bound.

Last day in the country of Himalayan wonders, after an amazing experience and wonderful memories of Mardi Himal-Annapurna Base Camp and Poon Hill trek with great services of Nepal High Point Trekking and its friendly guide, then depart from the hotel as per your flight time our staff transfers you to Kathmandu international airport for your homeward flight or to the next respective countries.

Here’s a complete rundown of what to bring if you’re planning a trek to Everest Base Camp or any other tea-house trek in Nepal.  Proper preparation and equipment for the conditions will go a long way to ensuring you have a great trekking experience.  What follows is a pretty comprehensive list and will make sure you are covered in the coldest months of the year. IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS AND ITEMS

  • Valid passport, 2 extra passport size photos, airline tickets
  • Separate photocopies of passport, visa form (easily obtained at Kathmandu airport), proof of insurance
  • Dollars, pounds or Euros in cash for purchasing Nepalese visa at Kathmandu airport, for paying for restaurants and hotels, for gratuities, snacks, and to purchase your own drinks and gifts
