Kopradanda Trekking | Ridge in Annapurna region

Khopra Danda (Ridge) Trek is popular trekking destination in Annapurna region. This trek is also known as Khayer Lake Trekking. It provides equally remarkable views of the Himalayas including Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Fang and Nilgiri. This trek is suitable for all opinioned trekkers. We start this trip with Kathmandu world heritage site visit. The route goes through deeply lush thick pine, oak, rhododendron and bamboo forest with gorgeous vistas, journey through beautiful Magar, Gurung, Kami, Damai and Kshetri, Brahmin villages with its beautifully terraced farm lands.

Outline Itinerary: 

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu, welcome you in Kathmandu airport and transfer to the hotel

Day 02: Kathmandu sightseeing.

Day 03: Drive to Pokhara 860 m -06 hrs overland ride.

Day 04: Drive to Nayapul or beyond and trek to Ulleri 1,960 m - 06 hrs.

Day 05: Trek to Ghorepani 2,880 m - 05 hrs.

Day 06: Trek from Ghorepani to Upper Chistibung

Day 07: Trek from Upper Chistibung to Khopra Danda  

Day 08: Rest day in Khopra Danda, Day-trip to Khayer Lake (4660m) 3640m 7-8 hours

Day 09: Trek from Khopra Danda to Tatopani (1250m)  4-5 hours

Day 10: From Tatopani, drive to Pokhara 

Day 11: Drive to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Day 12: Depart Nepal for international flight home-ward bound.


Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, we will pick you up from Kathmandu airport and transfer to your hotel. On checking into your rooms getting refreshed briefing of the treks with other useful information.

Day 02: Kathmandu sightseeing world heritage site

Sightseeing around Kathmandu, as the valley is steeped with many world heritage sites and important monuments and religious-historical sites. You will visit Pashupatinath (Hindu Temple), Baudanath stupa, Swyambhunath stupa (Mokey temple), Patan durbar square.

Day 03: Drive from kathmandu to Pokhara 860 m -06 hrs overland ride.

The morning after early breakfast transfer for a long drive of 5 to 6 hours of exciting drive to reach the scenic city in Pokhara, located Nepal Mid-West a warmer country but with incredible views of Annapurna Himalaya that reflects on its calm Begnas and Phewa Lakes. On reaching Pokhara then transfer to a nice hotel by the lakeside of Phewa Lake, with to wander around the lakeshore full of stores, shops, restaurants, and hotels. (For interested people can take 30 minutes of scenic flight to Pokhara from Kathmandu). that cost extra.

Day 04: Drive to Nayapul or beyond and trek to Ulleri 1,960 m - 06 hrs. 

With pleasant nigh-stop at Pokhara, morning leads with a short draw is to reach starting the point of the trek at Nayapul town or beyond to Bhirethati village, a nice place on the side of Modi River. The walk starts heading with slow uphill trail past farm villages overlooking cascading waterfalls entering forest within farm areas and then climb to reach Tirkhedhunga, a nice farm village close to its beautiful waterfalls. From Tirkhedhunga morning walks up the hill on stone paved steps all the way to reach a high ridge top at Ulleri village for overnight stops after a tough walk of few hours. Ulleri a large Gurung and Magar village facing views of rolling hills and snow-capped peaks of Annapurna South, Huin Chuli and top of Machhapuchare Himal.

Day 05: Trek to Ghorepani 2,880 m - 05 hrs.   

From Ulleri after a nice overnight morning walk leads on was ending but on a gentle path within oaks-pines and rhododendron forest, where walk slowly gains altitude to reach Ghorepani village. Ghorepani offers fabulous views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, and Vara-Shikar also called Annapurna Fang, a village with blue painted houses serving as good lodges located at the base of Poon Hill, populated with Poon people of Magar ethnic tribe. 

Day 06: Trek from Ghorepani to Upper Chistibung

Day 07: Trek to Upper Chistibung to Khopra Danda   

Day 08: Rest day in Khopra danda, Day trip to Khayer lake (4660m)

Day 09: Trek from Khopra danda to Tatopani (1250m) 

Day 10: Drive from Tatopani to Pokhara.

Morning catches fantastic views of Annapurna range with another sunrise views and then having last breakfast on high hills, our memorable and exciting short adventure completes taking to Birethanti then drive to scenic Pokhara by its calm Phewa Lake.

Day 11: Drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Having early breakfast where interesting drive brings you back in Kathmandu, as drive departs from Pokhara, as journey leads past many nice farm villages and town, from Mugling Bazaar following Trisuli River for sometimes, and then on winding uphill to reach into Kathmandu valley as well back to your respective hotels. 

Day 12: Depart Nepal for international flight home-ward bound.

Last day in the country of Himalayan wonders, after an amazing experience and wonderful memories of Ghorepani and Poon Hill trek, depart from the hotel as per your flight time our staff transfers you to Kathmandu international airport for your homeward flight or to next respective countries.
