Overview

Trekking to Everest base camp is amazing package for your adventurous trekking life. The trekking will take you from the modern Tibetan capital of Lhasa to pristine high altitude lakes, rivers, glaciers, farming valleys and through the Himalaya’s to Everest Base Camp Region at Rongphu Monastery at an altitude of nearly 5100 meters/17,000 feet. You will also get opportunity to visit the Buddhist holy city of Lhasa, where you can visit wonderful place of lhasa that is Potala Palace as well as the massive monasteries of Sera and Drepung.

Scenic beauty is attained directly from Lhasa. For the immense excitement of the alluring views of the Himalayas throughout the world lies in Nepal. The earnest peak ever found in the world, the Mt. Everest has its own significance for the climbers from all over the world. We drive from Lhasa to Rongbuk, Everest Base Camp. Our real trekking begins right from here. We explore the Everest Advance Base Camp from Rongbuk Everest Base Camp for six days. The immense beauty of the massive peaks can be viewed close to the eyes on the way. This is in fact highly rich trekking for each climber. A good initial preparation is required to conquer the climbing through highly acclaimed glaciers. A climber should have challenging experience at such high altitude. It is like a few inches below the summit.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Day 02: Fly to Lhasa 3,660 m and drive to your hotel.

Day 03-04: In Lhasa with sightseeing tour at places of great interest.

Day 5: Drive from Lhasa to Gyangtse (3990 m), 350 kms

Day 6: Drive from Gyangtse to Shalu-Shigatse (3860 m), 90 kms

Day 7: Drive Shigatse through Sakya to Shegar/Dingri(4350 m)

Day 8: Trek to EBC

Day 9: Trek firm Lungjhang to Lamna La

Day 10: Trek to Zommug (15700ft)

Day 11: Trek to Rongbuk

Day 12: Trek Everest Base Camp

Day 13: Drive EBC to Tingri:

Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

On reaching at Kathmandu international airport received by our staff and guide with warm welcome then transfer to your hotel in center of Kathmandu city, after getting refreshed in your rooms join for briefing regarding your trekking.

Day 02: Fly to Lhasa 3,660 m and drive to your hotel.

Early morning after breakfast you will be transferred from the Hotel to the International Airport Kathmandu. You fly with sweeping panoramic flight to Tibet, on arrival you will be received at the Gongar Airport by our Tibetan guide. Less than two hours of good drive reaches you at Lhasa and to the best Lhasa's Hotel, afternoon free for short walk around the Market Square.

Day 03-04: In Lhasa with sightseeing tour at places of great interest.

Guided tour in Lhasa of JOKHANG TEMPLE, BARKHOR MARKET SQUARE, POTALA PALACE, NORBULINGKHA SUMMER PALACE with SERA & DREPUNG MONASTERIES. At Lhasa with an interesting tour of important sites around its historical and religious places, beginning with short drive west of Lhasa towards a hilltop with a tour of old Drepung Monastery, in the early day home of all high priest and Dalia Lamas before Potala Palace was built. Here visit the main prayer halls with monks on deep prayers where Drepung means a heap of rice with its whitewashed buildings as it looks from a distance views, after a great interesting visit drive to Shera Monastery where you can witness young monks on the exciting debate, which deepens their knowledge of all types to reach their priesthood. Afternoon tour of magnificent Potala Palace known as ' Heavenly Realm' with 1,000 rooms where visitors can tour only the main important interior of 8 to 10 rooms of great significance. Potala Palace stands in the hub of Lhasa city a beautiful Landmark of Tibet, where main-superior priest Dalai Lama residence till 14 the last Dalai Lama, at present turn into a museum. After an impressive tour back to busy colorful Barkhor Market Square with time to visit Jharkhand Temple, the oldest religious sites of Tibet. As the day ends in Lhasa.

Day 5: Drive from Lhasa to Gyangtse (3990 m), 350 kms

Today our journey to EBC starts by driving through Yamdrok, the Turquoise Lake to Gyangtse across Kampa la pass 5050 m and Karo la (5045 m) passes. Visit Kubum stupa and Pelkor Chode Monastery. We stay overnight at hotel at Gyangtse.

Day 6: Drive from Gyangtse to Shalu-Shigatse (3860 m), 90 kms

Today also we drive to Shigatse. On the way we visit Shalu Monastery and Tashilhunpo Monastery, the seat of Panchen Lama who is the 2nd in the Buddhist religious hierarchy and we visit Shigatse Market. Stay overnight at Hotel.

Day 7: Drive Shigatse through Sakya to Shegar/Dingri(4350 m)

Very early after your breakfast we start the day by driving to Dingri, a windblown settlement and the gateway to Mt. Everest where we meet our Nepali Sherpa staffs. In route visit Sakya Monastery. On arrival at Dingri our staff setup camp. Stay overnight at camp.

Day 8: Trek to EBC

Today our trek starts from the Dingri plains (14,400 ft) along Ra Chhu stream to beyond Chholling and past the village of Lungjhang (14,900 ft). Stay overnight at Camp.

Day 9: Trek firm Lungjhang to Lamna La:

Early morning after breakfast we continue our trek and pass through a small goat or Drokpa encampment and reach to Lamna La (15,600 ft). We make camp below Lamna La and stay overnight at Camp.

Day 10: Trek to Zommug (15700ft)

We continue our trek today also, we climb over Lamna La (16,900 ft) with Gyachung Kang and Cho Oyu off to the south; and descend to Zommug, at 15,700 ft the highest permanent settlement in the Everest region. Zommug is a center for animal husbandry and a supply center for yaks used on Everest expeditions. We stay overnight at Camp.

Day 11: Trek to Rongbuk

Today our plan is to reach at Rongbuk, which is in the south of Zommug, it is built by Dzatrul Ngawang Tenzin Norbu in early 1901-02. The majestic Everest stands towering high above in full glare. We stay overnight at camp.

Day 12: Trek Everest Base Camp

Our plan for today is to achieve Everest base Camp, the trail passes through retreat caves, the ruins of the nunnery of Sherab Chholing and the fast flowing Dzaka Chu. Before the terminus of the Rongbuk Glacier is Everest Base Camp. Across a creek, is the ocean of ice that composes the Rongbuk Glacier, with views of the Himalayan range that are among the most spectacular. Stay overnight at camp.

Day 13: Drive EBC to Tingri:

After the nice spend in Everest base camp, we start our journey all the way back to Kathmandu. we drive through the village of Chhosang, Phadrukchi, over Pang La, across Phung Chhu or Arun River, and into Tingri. Stay overnight at guest House.

Day 14: Drive Tingri to Kerung

Morning after your breakfast, we start driving from the Tingri plain we drive across the high Tibetan plateau to the trade post town of Tingri, the border town. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day 15: Drive from Kerung to Kathmandu

Today we plan to back to Kathmandu, so in Friendship Bridge our representative will meet you and drive you to Kathmandu. On the way with amazing view of mountain, river, forest.

Day 16: In Kathmandu Rest day or shopping day

Today you can take rest or do shopping and visit Kathmandu.

Day 17: Depart Nepal for international flight home-ward bound.

Last day in the country of high Everest within massive Himalaya, with an amazing experience and wonderful memories and adventure on Everest Base Camp trek, then depart from the hotel as per your flight time Nepal High Point staff transfers you to Kathmandu international airport for your homeward flight or to next respective countries.

  • Valid passport, 2 extra passport size photos, airline tickets
  • Separate photocopies of passport, visa form (easily obtained at Kathmandu airport), proof of insurance
  • Dollars, pounds or Euros in cash for purchasing Nepalese visa at Kathmandu airport, for paying for restaurants and hotels, for gratuities, snacks, and to purchase your own drinks and gifts
